It's Official
I got a call from my lawyer today. Slugger's adoption certificate was signed on April 16, 2008. We are finally, blissfully, and officially a family. Slugger and I went out to dinner tonight and we came up with the top ten reasons that it's a good thing the adoption is final. I wish I could remember them all, but I do know that I'll always remember the tenth one. Slugger came up with it and he decided we had to say it together. So, on the count of four (don't ask me why four instead of three... that's just Slugger) we both said "We're one, big, happy family."

Years of research, 5 wonderful weeks of hosting a boy from Russia, and 8 months pursuing his adoption resulted in a closed door.
